Introduction of Dr. Cao Yilin

Dr. Cao Yilin, born in May 1954, professor, member of the Communist Party of China, chief physician, doctoral supervisor, national model worker and Shanghai model worker. Born in Shanghai in May 1954, he graduated from Shanghai Second Medical University in plastic surgery in 1978. He obtained a master's degree in 1988 and a doctor's degree in the same year. He studied under Professor Zhang Disheng, a senior plastic surgeon in China and an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. In 1991, he won one of the two grants from the American Orthopaedic Foundation with outstanding achievements, and engaged in postdoctoral research at Harvard Medical School in the United States. His research direction is tissue engineering.

Dr. Cao Yilin is the chief scientist of the "973" project, a distinguished professor of Changjiang Scholars, a winner of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, and an expert in international tissue engineering and regenerative medicine. He has won one second prize of the National Invention Award, two first prizes of Shanghai Science and Technology Progress Award, and nine provincial and ministerial awards. He has published more than 150 papers, edited 1 book, participated in writing 3 books, trained 6 postdoctoral students, 35 doctoral students and 26 master students.
