Doctor Tong Jing'an has completed more than 40000 cataract operations (the youngest patient is 3 months old, the oldest is 104 years old), and is proficient in vitrectomy, retinal detachment, glaucoma, ptosis, strabismus, chronic dacryocystitis, fundus angiography, fundus laser photocoagulation technology, etc.

Doctor Tong Jing'an has been teaching ophthalmology to graduate and undergraduate students in Shaanxi University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. More than 40 graduate students have been trained, including 4 doctoral students and 3 ophthalmic directors of tertiary hospitals.

Doctor Tong Jing'an has delivered keynote speeches and presided over annual ophthalmological conferences in China, five northwestern provinces and Shaanxi Province for many times. He has published more than 30 academic papers, 7 books and 6 ophthalmic textbooks. He presided over 4 scientific research projects and won one third prize of Shaanxi Science and Technology Award. Phase III clinical study of Eyedeal intraocular lens is currently in progress.
